Hi and welcome,

I'm Alison O'Connor - the founder and principal psychologist of Collaborative Minds Psychology.

At Collaborative Minds Psychology my goal is simple; to create a warm and welcoming environment where I’ll work collaboratively with you to identify solutions and strategies that best fit your psychological needs. I provide a Telehealth service for adults experiencing a range of psychological issues, such as:

  • Mood Disorders (Anxiety, Depression & Low Mood)
  • Life Changes / Stressors and Adjustment Issues
  • Stress Management
  • Burnout
  • Low Self-Esteem and Self-Confidence
  • Assertiveness Training
  • Social Anxiety
  • Personal Growth and Development
  • Relationship Issues (individuals - not couples therapy)
  • Chronic Health Conditions / Physical Disabilities
  • Chronic Pain
  • Health Anxiety
  • General Wellbeing

I have a particular passion for working with people living with chronic health conditions and chronic pain. Living with a chronic health condition and/or chronic pain can have such a profound impact on not only your physical health, but also your psychological and social wellbeing. I offer a comfortable environment where you will be genuinely heard, understood and supported in improving your psychological health and overall wellbeing. If you would like to reach out for a chat or to book an appointment, please contact me at

About Me

I’m an AHPRA registered generalist psychologist with over 15 years experience working across community health, hospital and private practice settings.

My therapeutic approach is driven by who you are and what works best for you. We’ll work collaboratively together to find the best strategies to assist you in achieving your therapy goals. Two heads are often better than one!

My evidence based “toolkit” includes:

  • CBT
  • ACT
  • Mindfulness
  • Behavioural Therapy
  • Interpersonal Therapy
  • Solution Focused Therapy
  • Schema Therapy
  • Psycho-Education
  • Pain Management

I provide Telehealth services, so we can work together in the comfort of an environment of your choosing. A significant benefit of telehealth is that it allows you to have accessible and continued psychological counselling without having to travel to appointments. I use Zoom for all my Telehealth sessions.

Outside of work I’m a busy Mum, who enjoys the simple things in life. Like finding a quiet moment in what can otherwise be a very loud and busy world.
